You gotta see the season premiere, Do-Over

I love, love, love this show so much.  I had huge hopes for this season as this was the season for 30 Rock.  Tina Fey won everyone’s heart over by impersonating Sarah Palin on SNL, and now she gets to win everyone over playing Liz Lemon.  I don’t know how she found the time.

The season opener starts off with Liz trying to get everyone over at TGS to be on their best behavior because she’s trying to adopt a child.  Of course everything goes wrong when it’s not supposed to as usual, and the comedy starts.  Meanwhile, while Liz has the baby adoption agency to worry about, she’s also trying to get Tracy to compensate Jenna for playing a character in his video game that made over $100 million.  Of course Tracy doesn’t think he owes anyone anything.

Also in this episode, Jack makes his return to NBC, but as a page! He has to start working from the bottom-up and plans to go head-to-head against Devin to run the company.

I loved this episode so much!  And, apparently, so did 8.5 million people in America.  Well done 30 Rock!

30 Rock’s Return

With about 4,001 Emmys under their belt, I’m sure Season 3 of 30 Rock is one not to miss.  It’s too bad that 30 Rock swept the Emmys at such a boring Emmys telecast.  The one amazing thing that Tina Fey did have to say during her Emmy acceptance speech was that she wouldn’t be where she was today if she hadn’t started as a writer.

TV has gone through such a slump this past decade from the birth of reality to the death of sitcom.  However, with all of that Tina Fey has come on top and paved the way for many female comedians and has changed the way people look at female comedians and writers.  The notion has become “Hey she’s funny,” instead of “Oh, there’s another girl comedian…let’s go to the bathroom.”  So, I’ll get off my soapbox for now, and just praise what Tina is doing, has done, and will keep on doing.  I can’t wait to see more 30 Rock especially this season with Jennifer Aniston and Oprah as guest stars it’s become the A-list place to be.  Oh yeah, and um…who doesn’t love Judah Friedlander, Tracy Morgan and Alec Baldwin?
